Author Biographies

Dr. Dominik Jasinski is a Sustainability Engineer and Consultant, with a focus on the transition to a circular economy and sustainability. Dr. Jasinski completed an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing (Warwick University, UK), MSc in Engineering Business Management (Warwick University, UK), and MSc in Management and Marketing (TU Koszalin, Poland). Dr. Jasiński is an experienced R&D engineer with a rich history of working on international projects in the area of the circular economy and sustainable development. He was responsible for managing and leading work packages in many projects co-financed from the Horizon 2020, Seventh Framework, Life and Innovate UK programmes. Dr Jasiński has an extensive expertise in the development and application of sustainability assessment methods and techniques, including product Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing, and Social LCA. He also has a vast experience in the application of various research methods (both quantitative and qualitative), documented through publications in high-impact international scientific journals. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Gdańsk University of Technology (2020–2021). Since 2019, he has been running the PLM Sustainability Consulting company, supporting organisations in the preparation and implementation of projects focused on achieving the sustainable development goals and circular economy objectives.
Dr Ilija Djekic is a full professor at the Faculty of Agriculture—University of Belgrade. His teaching portfolio covers the quality and environmental topics in food science and he lectures various courses at all three levels of studies. To date, he has lectured to over 1,200 students and supervised 30+ PhD and Master's theses. During his research and scientific consulting activities, he participated in 15+ (inter)national scientific projects and his contracted scientific consulting was performed in 100+ food companies. His scientific portfolio is deployed for evaluating food industry performance by using existing and / or developing new diagnostic models and tools for analyzing food quality / food safety / food sustainability performance at the product, process, and company level, and identifying improvement possibilities throughout the food supply chain. Ilija Djekic has (co-)authored more than 250 full papers, out of which 170+ are in journals included in the © ISI Web of Knowledge, as well as ten chapters and five books. He has international experience in over ten countries and serves as an Editor in different peer-reviewed journals. He has appeared in the years 2021, 2022, and 2023 on the Stanford list of top 2% world’s most-cited scientists.
Luka Dobrović received his MBA in Marketing Management from the University of Rijeka in 2013, and is now pursuing a PhD in the field of Research Environmental Economics. He worked as a Bio-Economy Advisor at Mi-Plast d.o.o. (2007-2016). In 2016, he has become a CEO of Particula Group d.o.o., a biotechnology and innovation company in Rijeka. His research topics mainly include bioeconomy, biomass, microalgae, and sustainable solutions for plastic industry.
