Dr. Carla Sofia Santos Ferreira is an auxiliary researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal. She has worked at Stockholm University, Sweden, and Swansea University, UK. She completed her PhD studies in Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of Aveiro in 2015. In addition, she is a Member of the Executive Committee of CERNAS, a former Research Area Leader for the Environment and Society, and a Committee Member of the Soil System Sciences subdivision “Soil Erosion and Conservation” of the European Geosciences Union. Her research interests include soil and water degradation processes, impacts of anthropogenic activities and climate change on land degradation, nature-based solutions and ecosystem services, and sustainable land-use planning.
