Christos V. Bellos is a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering, University of Western Macedonia. He received his diploma in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of
Athens in 2006 and MSc in Engineering Project Management. He has participated
for more than fourtheen years in several European and national projects. His
main research interests include EEG signal analysis, feature extraction and
data analysis methodologies as well as decision support systems and Virtual
Reality environments. He has published over 20 scientific papers for
international conferences and journals.
Konstantinos A.
Stefanou was born in Ioannina,
Greece in 1983. He received his Engineering Diploma from the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of
Athens in 2006. He received his Master Diploma in the field of Information
Systems from the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2008. He has
participated in several European and national projects since 2009 and his main
fields of activity in these projects concern technical management and software
engineering. His general interests include medical image processing, 3D
visualization rendering, mobile application development, information systems
design and implementation. He has published over 20 scientific papers for
international conferences and journals.
Alexandros Tzallas is currently an Associate Professor in the
field of Biomedical Engineering and specifically in the “Analysis and
Processing of Biomedical Data”, at the Department of Informatics and
Telecommunications, of the University of Ioannina. He is also affiliated as an
Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Metabolism of Digestion and
Reproduction at the Faculty of Medicine of Imperial College London. He has
worked on several research and development European and national programs as a
software engineer, researcher, technical manager, seminar instructor, and
post-doc researcher. He has received more than 4300 citations and served as a
reviewer for several scientific journals and conferences. His research
interests include EEG, wearable devices, biomedical signal and image
processing, biomedical engineering, decision support and medical expert
systems, and biomedical applications.
George S. Stergios received his diploma in Computer Engineering
and Informatics from the University of Patras in 2009. He received his Master
of Science in the field of ICT in Education from the University of Ioannina in
2014. He currently attends the Postgraduate Programme in Business
Administration from the Hellenic Management Association. He has participated in
several European and national projects since 2010 and has gained experience on
software development, web applications and EEG systems in education. His
research interests include event related potentials for educational purposes,
speech analysis software and artificial intelligence systems in credit risk
management.
Prof. Markos G Tsipouras was born in Athens, Greece, in
1977. He received a Diploma in Computer Science from the University of
Ioannina, Greece, in 1999, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
same faculty in 2002 and 2008, respectively. He also received a Diploma in
Natural Sciences from the Hellenic Open University in 2013. He has worked as a
lecturer/assistant professor at various universities and technological
institutes in Greece and was elected Associate Professor of Signal Processing
at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of
Western Macedonia, in April 2019, where he has served as Vice President since
September 2020. He was also appointed Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the
Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction, Imperial College of
London in September 2021. He has collaborated in more than 25 European (3rd
CSF, FP6, FP7, H2020) and Greek national research programs and currently
supervises 6 research programs. He has published more than 150 articles in
peer-reviewed scientific journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters,
while he is co-author of one book and two patents (one national and one PCT).
His research interests include digital processing of biomedical signals and
images, medical informatics, data mining, fuzzy logic, decision support
systems, and expert systems.
