Author Biographies

Yuxiang Xia received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tianjin Medical University in 2022 and is now pursuing her postgraduate medical studies at Tsinghua University School of Clinical Medicine, as well as an internship at a medical device company. She has participated in several scientific research projects that received millions of USD in funding and has been awarded the Scholarship of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, the Student of the Year for Self-Reliance and Self-Improvement, the Haihe Self-Improvement Scholarship. She has been awarded the Tianjin People's Government Scholarship, Student Self-starter of the Year, Haihe Self-improvement Scholarship, Outstanding Achievement Award for Innovation, and First Class Scholarship of the university. Her research interests include the medical–industrial intersection, microcirculation, and non-invasive measurements. She has been committed to the clinical application of modern science and technology and the research and development of advanced healthcare products, including a skeletal muscle home exercise system developed in the field of sarcopenia prevention and blockage, high-specification polyurethane mattresses for medical use developed in the field of pressure injury prevention and treatment, and capillary and capillary fiber mattresses developed in non-invasive microcirculation monitoring. In the field of microcirculation monitoring, she has developed a capillary refill time monitoring system.
Wangxinrui is currently a Ph.D. student at the Clinical Medical School of Tsinghua University. The School of Clinical Medicine at Tsinghua University, often referred to as the Tsinghua University Medical School, is renowned for its excellence in medical education, research, and clinical practice. Located in Beijing, China, the school integrates cutting-edge biomedical research, clinical innovation, and public health initiatives to cultivate top-tier healthcare professionals and scientists. Over the past three years, Wangxinrui studied at Hebei Medical University and earned a master's degree in medicine. In addition, Wangxinrui completed standardized residency training at the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University.
Zhe Guo is an Emergency Medicine Doctor at Tsinghua University, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine Residency Training Faculty and is currently the Deputy Chief Physician of the Intensive Care Unit at Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital, Beijing, China. In 2022, she received a Faculty Development Program certification from Harvard Medical School. She is a member of the Perioperative Management Group of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and a young member of the Clinical Nutrition Physician Committee of the Surgical Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. She is the runner-up of the National Critical Care Medicine Case Speech Contest. She specializes in the emergency and critical care of internal diseases, as well as post-surgical complications, and she is skilled in the processes of mechanical ventilation, tracheotomy, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring. In particular, she specializes in critical care ultrasound and the treatment of critical liver disease. She is skilled at blood perfusion, plasma exchange, bilirubin adsorption, and other artificial liver replacement therapies, as well as in the use of critical care ultrasound technology to perform ultrasound-guided punctures, hemodynamic evaluations, and other acute and critical care ultrasound evaluations. In recent years, she has published dozens of SCI papers in SHOCK, Cells, and other journals.
Xuesong Wang, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University Affiliated Tsinghua Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He graduated with a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2023 and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Tsinghua University. At present, his work is mainly divided into three directions: the pathophysiological mechanism of infection, the prevention and blockade of sepsis, and the regulation of immune disorders in sepsis. During his doctoral studies and his time at the station, he has accumulated significant work experience, published more than ten SCI papers, and applied for project funding of more than CNY 300000. He currently serves as a young editorial board member for the Emergency and Critical Care Medicine journal and a reviewer for several SCI journals, such as the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, the Chinese Journal of Medicine, the Clinical Medicine Journal, etc., assisting the journal in completing manuscript reviews and publication work. Secondly, as a general practitioner, he is currently involved in the management of the general medicine ward at Tsinghua Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Beijing and responsible for the family doctor work at Shiziying Community Health Service Center in Beijing Tianbei. He has played an important role in the signing of resident family doctor contracts and the investigation of chronic diseases among residents, and he has also conducted some research on chronic disease management among Chinese residents.
Wang Zhong is the Director of the Department of Family Medicine, Chief Physician of Beijing Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital, and Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Tsinghua University School of Clinical Medicine. He was the deputy director of the Emergency Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, vice president of Beijing Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital, vice president of the Emergency Physicians Branch of the Chinese Physicians Association, standing committee member of the Family Medicine Physicians Branch of the Chinese Community Health Association, executive director of the Chinese Community Health Association, and a member of the Family Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. His main research focuses on clinical infections, sepsis, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. His recent research focuses on “Emerging Pathogens” and the “Development of Clinical Utility Devices”. Since SARS emerged in 2003, he has personally taken 158 nasopharyngeal swabs and participated in the successful isolation of the “SARS Coronavirus”, becoming a member of the first team in China to identify the pathogen of SARS. At the same time, he participated in the basic research team of SARS and proposed that “the pathogenesis of SARS is ARDS”, which was published in Nature Medicine.
