Civil Engineer with 40 years of experience leading major projects in Uruguay. Over 1,000,000 m³ of structural concrete and more than 10,000,000 m³ of earthmoving across all types of structures and roadworks. Currently serving as the Technical Manager of one of the three largest companies in Uruguay. Simultaneously, a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of the Republic (Uruguay) for over 25 years, recognized for innovation in creating several new courses, including Concrete Technology and Structural Construction. Also a lecturer in postgraduate courses.
Prof. Dr. María Noel Pereyra is the Institute Head of the Structures and Transportation Institute at the Engineering Faculty, Universidad de la República. She completed her Ph.D. in Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and Civil Engineering from the Engineering Faculty, Universidad de la República. Prof. Pereyra has worked as a teacher and researcher at the Construction Department of the Structures and Transportation Institute since 2001. Her research interests focus on concrete durability, materials characterization and properties, concrete technology, sustainability in construction and the use of concrete paving blocks.
