Charles Mwizerwa is a Senior Research Associate at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Kigali, Rwanda. He is involved in the Live Food Monitor System projects, the Consortium for Improving Agriculture-based Livelihoods in Central Africa (CIALCA), and Citizen Science and ICT for advancing the prevention and control of Banana Xanthomonas Wilt (ICT4BXW). The programming, testing, planning, and field implementation of digital surveys for IITA projects are Charles' primary responsibilities. In order to improve deep data analysis, he analyses data, presents and reports initial findings to IITA scientists, and contributes to the writing of papers as a co-author. He teaches on BXW software and its server to next and end-users (farmer promotors, sector and district agronomists, and RAB technicians) as part of the ICT4BXW initiative. He provides the necessary tools for RAB technicians to follow up with farmer promoters involved in the ICT4BXW initiative. He assists with project implementation for IITA.
Marc Schut is a senior innovation portfolio management advisor and scientist with CGIAR and Wageningen University, based in Kenya. In this role, he co-leads the redesign and development of CGIAR’s innovation, delivery, and scaling infrastructure, including the new CGIAR innovation portfolio management systems.
He has led multi-cultural and inter-disciplinary innovation and scaling teams and managed multi-country, multi-partner, donor-funded programs. Marc has mobilized more than USD 20M of funding, has published 50 scientific publications, and has solid experience in financial and human resource management, vision, and partnership development, as CGIAR-center country representative.
Marc has 15 years of experience in low- and middle-income countries and has built a strong professional reputation among impact investors, researchers, and development networks. Marc is known for his inclusive leadership style and has a track record of talent development and creating a safe working environment for staff of all ages, backgrounds, and genders.
