Andrea Galbiati graduated in Cognitive Neuroscience at the “Vita-Salute” San Raffaele University in Milan. He is a psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist registered with the Order of Psychologists of Lombardy. He obtained a PhD in Philosophy and Mind Sciences (Cognitive Neuroscience curriculum) at the same university. He was subsequently a research fellow at the “Vita-Salute” San Raffaele University and at the Sleep Medicine unit of the San Raffaele-Ville Turro Hospital, where he dealt with psychophysiological and neuropsychological aspects related to sleep and its disorders, with particular attention to the relationship between sleep disorders and neurodegeneration, the psychophysiology of insomnia, emotional regulation and REM sleep, and non-pharmacological approaches for the treatment of sleep disorders. Since December 2020 he has been a fixed-term researcher at the Faculty of Psychology at the “Vita-Salute” San Raffaele University. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Italian Association of Sleep Medicine, the World Sleep Society, the International REM Sleep Behavior Study Group, the European Insomnia Network, and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia Academy.
