Beiping Tan is a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from Ocean University of China as a full-time doctoral student in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Agronomy. He was the executive deputy director of Zhanjiang Marine High-tech Park and director of Donghai Island Marine Biological Research Base, director of the Graduate Work Department of the Party Committee of Guangdong Ocean University, dean of the College of Fisheries, and director of the Institute of Marine Biology, etc. From June 2018 to now, he has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Guangdong Ocean University. His main research direction is aquatic animal nutrition physiology and immunology.
