Dr. Panagiotis Papazotos is a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering (SMME) at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM). He holds a B.Sc. in Geology and Geoenvironment from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), earned in 2013, and two M.Sc. degrees—one in Water Resources Science and Technology (2015) and another in Environmental Management with a focus on Mineral Resources Management (2018). In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. at NTUA, with a thesis investigating the geochemical footprint of ultramafic rocks in groundwater quality, focusing on the mobility and environmental impact of potentially toxic elements such as chromium and arsenic. Dr. Papazotos has a strong background in advanced mineralogical and geochemical analysis techniques and is highly skilled in statistical, spatial, and geochemical modeling software. He has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, reflecting his research in environmental geochemistry, isotope geochemistry, water resources management, and soil science. His teaching roles include undergraduate and postgraduate courses at NTUA, NKUA, and UOWM, covering subjects like geochemistry, environmental/applied geochemistry, groundwater management, and mineralogy.
