Prof. Joshua Byrnes has worked as an academic and consulting health economist since 2011 after receiving his PhD in Health Economics from The University of New South Wales. He is the current President of the Australian Health Economics Society and the past Australian President of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. Prof. Joshua Byrnes's research expertise centers on designing and analyzing studies to measure and demonstrate value in health. Prof. Joshua Byrnes has significantly impacted and influenced the Australian health system's policy, practice, and funding decisions. This has included leading the economic assessment of plain packaging tobacco legislation, pregnancy warning labels on alcohol, and opt-out arrangements for the MyHealth Record.
Dr. Duc Trong Quach is an associate professor of Gastroenterology and vice chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMCH). He is the Vice-President of the Vietnam Association of Gastroenterology (VNAGE) and Secretary General of the Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE). Dr. Duc Trong Quach was a research fellow of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology in 2005 and obtained the advanced fellowship of the Asia-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy in 2009. Dr. Duc Trong Quach received a Ph.D. in Gastroenterology in 2011 at UMCH. His interests include GERD, functional gastrointestinal disorders, Helicobacter pylori, screening strategies for early gastrointestinal cancers, and advanced therapeutics endoscopy. Dr. Duc Trong Quach has received several awards, including the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 14th Biannual Scientific Congress of Vietnamese Nation-wide Medical and Pharmaceutical Schools in 2008, the Medal of Creativeness from the Vietnamese Central Youth League in 2008, the Young Clinicians Program Award of the World Congress on Gastroenterology in 2009 and the Outstanding Teacher Award, Faculty of Medicine, UMCH in 2020.
