Prof. Dr. Farid
Akhtar has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from
the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Pakistan. He received his
doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Science
and Technology in Beijing, China in 2007. He carried out postdoctoral research
in Professor Lennart Bergström’s group at the Department of Materials and
Environmental Chemistry at Stockholm University in 2007. Later, he worked as a
researcher at the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry. He
joined Luleå University of Technology in March 2014. His research focuses on the synthesis and
processing of porous materials for gas separation and storage and the designing
and tailoring of microstructure and properties of metallic, intermetallic, and
ceramic materials for high-temperature applications.
