David Khoury earned his Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree in telecommunications from ESIB in 1983 and has over 35 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors. He has worked at Matra and Ericsson in France and Sweden, focusing on research and development, product, and system management. He led a team that developed an ISDN platform for the Ericsson AXE exchange and contributed to early studies of GSM technology and research in 3G/WCDMA, HSPA, and LTE. In 2005, David became a technology and business consultant in the Middle East and Africa, and in 2010, he founded Secumobi, a startup developing military-grade secure communication systems using Ethereum blockchain technology. For the past decade, he has been a full-time faculty member in the Computer Science Department at the American University of Science & Technology (AUST) in Beirut and a strategy consultant for the Swiss startup Wone since 2018. David holds five US patents, has published numerous research papers, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale in Calais, France. His research interests include the Internet of Things (IoT), information security, and blockchain technology.
SAMIR HADDAD is a holder of a BS and MS in Computer Engineering, and DEA and MBA degrees. He received his PhD in Networking Systems and is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics. He is also an IT specialist. He is undertaking research in the fields of computer and electronics networking and network devices. He is also performing research in improving the understanding, design, performance, and optimization of wireless sensor networks. In the networking field, he is currently working on multiple areas including IoT, blockchain, security, and HCI. In the network science arena, he has focused on encoding and generic implementations.
