Dr. Wei Hong received B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Wuhan University in 2009 and 2014, respectively. From November 2014 to October 2019, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Since November 2019, he has been an Associate Professor at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been dedicated in the field of protein biochemistry and molecular pathology of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). His main research interests are to: 1) dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying the Aβ aggregation and spreading in AD; 2) discover new targets and cellular mechanisms in early AD; and 3) develop new antibodies and rational designed nanobodies for the diagnosis and therapeutics of AD.
