Prof. Dr. Jose Antonio Uranga is a Professor at the Department of Basic Health Sciences, University Rey Juan Carlos (URJC). He completed his PhD studies in Fundamental Biology at the University of the Basque Country. He recently led a high-performance research group in the pathophysiology and pharmacology of the digestive system at the URJC. He has published 53 papers in various journals. He also collaborates with CSIC and international groups (Brazil), evaluating treatments based on functional foods for pathologies such as hypertension or sarcopenia, among others. His teaching disciplines include cell biology and human histology, and his interests include cancer, inflammation, inflammation bowel disease, pathology, toxicology, and irritable bowel syndrome.
