Author Biographies

Dr. Eng. Aleksander Filip Furmanek Architect is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture and Town Planning, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, Poland. He completed his PhD studies in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, Warsaw University of Technology. He graduated in complementary education---Postgraduate Studies in Monuments Studies and Conservation of Architectural Heritage---at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In addition, at the Fire Academy in Warsaw, he also completed two-semester postgraduate studies for people applying for the profession of a fire protection expert. He has been awarded a few awards for teaching and research work, as well as several other honors for social and project activities. He recently took part in the EU project SPINAKER "A.I. am here: digital-based business as a path for the sustainable building sector". He has published his doctoral dissertation in open access, as well as nine papers in various journals and five chapters in different books. He serves as a Member of National Disciplinary Court for the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. His teaching disciplines include architecture, heritage protection, conservational design, professional ethics, and urban planning. His interests include  architecture, cultural heritage, conservation, fire protection, 3D technologies, urban planning, spatial economy, sustainable development, AI, BIM, CAD, GIS, Python, and Toruń.
