Author Biographies

Holly P Bartholomew is a Research Microbiologist at the Invasive Insect Biocontrol and Behavior Laboratory, USDA-ARS. Her research program focuses on bacterial biocontrol agents for agricultural pest mitigation. Holly P Bartholomew obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, and Ph.D. in Biology from the Virginia Tech. After the Ph.D., she worked in the Food Quality Laboratory at USDA-ARS as the ORISE Postdoctoral Researcher, investigating apple postharvest fungal pathogens and mycotoxin production.
Christopher Gottschalk is a Research Geneticist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service at the Appalachian Fruit Research Station (AFRS). His laboratory’s mission is to address emerging and historical challenges related to pome fruit production, quality, disease and pest pressures, and abiotic stress resilience. Christopher Gottschalk completed his Bachelor’s degree in General Plant Biology and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Biotechnology at the Michigan State University. Prior to his current position, he was a graduate research assistant at the Michigan State University. His research keywords include Apple, Plant Genomics, Plant Breeding, Malus.

Dianiris Luciano-Rosario obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 2014 and 2017, respectively. She then completed her Ph.D. in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022. Dianiris Luciano-Rosario is now an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow at Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS).
