Prof. Dr. Iva Hojsak is a pediatric gastroenterologist, head of the Pediatric Department, and deputy director of the Children's Hospital Zagreb, Croatia. She graduated from the Medical School of Zagreb, where she also received her PhD degree. She was elected as an assistant professor at the University of Zagreb Medical School and the University of J.J. Strossmayer Medical School. She has published more than 200 scientific and clinical papers and has been a lead researcher in more than 15 international and Croatian scientific projects. She is among the world's 2% most cited scientists (Stanford University, USA). She is Secretary General of the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and was an Education Secretary (2017-2020), a member of the Young Investigator program, and a Committee on Nutrition of ESPGHAN member. She is the associate editor of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and Clinical Nutrition, a member of the Porto IBD group of ESPGHAN. Her main clinical/research interests include intestinal failure, parenteral nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease, and probiotics.
