Hany Khalil is a Professor of Molecular Biology at the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute at the University of Sadat City, Egypt. He obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, Germany, in 2011. His research primarily focuses on infection biology, epigenetic modifications, and medical conditions such as cancer. Professor Khalil has published extensively in high-impact journals, including Nature, Frontiers in Oncology, Polymers, ACS Omega, BMC Cancer, and Scientific Reports, often serving as the corresponding author. His work has earned over 5,800 citations (according to Scopus) and an H-index of 18. In 2011, he was recognized as an inventor by the Max Planck Institute. He has also received several prestigious accolades, including the Egyptian State Encouragement Award in Biological Sciences (2013), the University Encouragement Award in Biomedical Sciences (2018), and the Award for Scientific Excellence in Medical Sciences from the University of Sadat City (2024).
