Prof. Dr. Natalino Salgado Filho received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Medicine/Nephrology from the Federal University of São Paulo in 1987 and 1994, respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he was the vice-president of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology. Currently, he is a full professor at the Federal University of Maranhao. He serves as a member of multiple medical associations, including the Academia Maranhense de Medicina (State of Maranhão Academy of Medicine), Institute of History and Geography of Maranhão (IHGMA), Brazilian Society of Hypertension (BSH), and the Brazilian Society of Nephrology (SBN). He is also part of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), American Society of Nephrology (ASN), Brazilian Society of History of Medicine, Academia Maranhense de Ciências e Letras (Maranhense Academy of Sciences and Letters), and the Brazilian Academy of Medical Writers (Sobrame). He further belongs to the managing committee of the Ligas Estudantes de apoio à Nefrologia (Student Associations for Nephrology) and serves as an Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Nephrology’s Clinical Epidemiology and Nephrology section. Within the realm of Nephrology, he focuses his work and research on the topics of Arterial Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease.
