Prof. Dr. Qinghong Kong is an associate professor at School of the Environment and Safety Engineering, Jiangsu University. She graduated from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science, University of Science and Technology of China in July 2006 with a Ph.D. in Safety Technology and Engineering. She has been teaching safety engineering at the School of the Environment and Safety, Jiangsu University since July 2006. She is engaged in the research of clean flame-retardant polymer materials, mainly focusing on the thermal properties, mechanical properties, combustion properties, and fire safety properties, etc., of nano-composite materials, especially the research on the smoke suppression and toxicity reduction of polymers. Her main research directions are the fire safety performance of flame retardant materials, the study of smoke suppression and toxicity reduction mechanisms for polymer materials, and the application of Raman enhancement in hazardous chemicals detection. As host and project leader, she has undertaken many national and provincial scientific research projects. She has published 15 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals. She has two flame retardant-related authorized patents, one of which has been transferred.
Prof. Dr. Junhao Zhang is the vice dean, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Anhui Normal University (majoring in Chemistry Education), a Master of Engineering degree from Shantou University (majoring in Industrial Catalysis), and a Doctor of Science degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (majoring in Inorganic Chemistry). He was a postdoctoral fellow at Shandong University (materials chemistry), Kochi University, Japan (materials chemistry), and the Institute for Advanced Materials, Madrid, Spain (materials chemistry). His research interests are (1) synthesis and self-assembly of inorganic functional materials; and (2) new energy materials and energy storage and conversion (lithium secondary batteries, supercapacitors, electrocatalysis, etc.). He has presided over, completed, and participated in, 17 national and provincial scientific research projects, in some of which he is an ongoing contributing researcher. He has published more than 80 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals. He has authorized five Chinese invention patents and one Japanese invention patent, two of which have been transferred. He is a reviewer and arbitrator for international authoritative journals such as the Journal of Materials Chemistry A and the Chemical Engineering Journal.
