Prof. Dr. Željko Krznarić obtained his Medical Degree in 1984, a Master’s Degree in 1990, and a PhD in 1997 from the University of Zagreb, Croatia (Biomarkers in IBD). Currently, Head of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Centre of Clinical Nutrition and Senior consultant in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology of the University Hospital Centre and Zagreb School of Medicine, Full Professor of the Zagreb Medical School & Zagreb Medical School in English, and Vice Chairmen for Clinical Studies in English, Zagreb Medical School, University of Zagreb. Also, he serves as the President of the Croatian Medical Association, a Member of the Committee of Clinical Nutrition, Ministry of Health, Republic of Croatia, the President of the Croatian Society of Clinical Nutrition and Croatian IBD Society, and a Member of Committee for IBD, National Insurance Fund. He is an ESPEN Faculty Member. Member of European Board and Section of Gastroenterology, Chair of Training Recognition Committee of EBGH, National representative in ECCO, member of EAGEN and ESGE. Member of UEG Educational Committee. His research focuses on general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal malignancy, and clinical nutrition.
