Dr. Judith Gentle completed her BSc. (Hons) in Psychology, Childhood and Ageing at Reading University in 2009. She was then awarded an ESRC Research Studentship in Psychology Quota Award 1+3 at Oxford Brookes University, and went on to complete an MRes degree in Psychological Research in 2010. Her Ph.D. focused on walking patterns of individuals with and without DCD and was completed in February 2015. She has been lecturing on the BSc Psychology course at The University of Surrey since 2015. Her areas of specialism include Developmental Coordination Disorder/Dyspraxia.
Dr. Marie Martel is a Lecturer at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK. She earned her Ph.D. at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France) in 2016. During her post-doctoral experiences, she worked under the guidance of Scott Glover (2019–2023) at Royal Holloway University of London, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, and Tobias Heed (2016–2018) at the University of Bielefeld (Germany). Her main research focus is to understand how the brain controls imagined or real movements performed with the hand or a tool. She is particularly interested in the interplay between multisensory integration, motor control and body representations during typical and atypical development. She mainly focuses on Developmental Coordination Disorder.
Dr. Anesa Hosein is an Associate Professor in the Surrey Institute of Education (SIoE). She is passionate about her job role which is in developing and mentoring academic staff/ colleagues (i.e. my “students”) in academic practice through using evidence-based research for the higher education sector. Her larger life role is to develop policy and practice that can make a difference in people's lives, particularly, those from disadvantaged or marginalised backgrounds.
