Anne Birgitte Fyhn earned, from the University of Tromsø, Norway, a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (1986); from the University of Oslo, a Candidate of Science in Mathematics Education (2000); and from the University of Tromsø, Norway, a PhD in Mathematics Education (2007). She is now Professor Emeritus in Mathematics Education at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway and at the Sámi University of Applied Sciences. Her work in the field of mathematics education has resulted in several publications and presentations. Her research interests include body-based mathematics education, ethnomathematics, Indigenous mathematics education, Sámi mathematics, and relations between intangible cultural heritage and mathematics.
Dina Nilsdatter Somby plans to receive her Master's in Teacher Education for Grades 5–10 (with a focus on the subjects of Sámi language and mathematics) from the Sámi University of Applied Sciences, Spring 2025. She has worked as a Sámi language teacher at the Sámi University of Applied
Sciences, Fall 2024. She is co-author of a scientific paper that she presented at a Nordic
conference in mathematics education, and she has presented her work with Sámi
mathematics education at Norway's annual conference for mathematics educators. Her research
topics mainly include Sámi mathematics education.
Aile Hætta Karlsen plans to receive her Master's in Teacher Education for Grades 5–10 (with a focus on the subjects of Sámi language and mathematics) from the Sámi University of Applied Sciences, Spring 2025.
