Dr. Stefano Giordano received his Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering, with summa cum laude honors, from the University of Genoa, Italy, in 1996, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Trento, Italy, in 2000. Following this, he joined the Department of Physics at the University of Cagliari, Italy. Since October 2010, he has been serving as a Senior Researcher at CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research) within the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics, and Nanotechnology (IEMN) in Villeneuve d’Ascq, France. Dr. Giordano's research focuses on homogenization methods for heterogeneous materials and structures, multiphysics and multiscale modeling of thermo-magneto-electro-elastic responses in multiferroic materials and spintronic structures, as well as the statistical mechanics of small systems with applications to adhesion, friction, fracture, and thermoacoustics. He has authored or co-authored approximately 120 articles in international journals and has also written a textbook.
