Prof. Dr. Blake Gilks is a consultant pathologist at BC Cancer and a pathologist at Vancouver General Hospital. He was recognized with the 2019 Terry Fox Medal presented by the Doctors of BC at the BC Cancer Summit in November 2019. He received his medical undergraduate training at Dalhousie and pathology residency training at the University of British Columbia (UBC). After completing further postgraduate studies in gynecological pathology at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Centre (Philadelphia), he was recruited back to UBC as a faculty member and as a pathologist at Vancouver General Hospital. His research interests include endometrial carcinomas, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and other cancer types, correlating immunostaining and fish results with patient outcomes.
Lien Hoang is an anatomical pathologist and clinical assistant professor at Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia, offering subspecialty expertise in gynecologic pathology. She received her BSc with hons in cellular and physiological sciences and her MD from the University of British Columbia. She also completed her pathology training at the University of British Columbia and fellowship training in gynecologic pathology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Currently, her research is centered on improving diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies for HPV-independent cancers of the female lower genital tract (the vulva and cervix), which represent understudied and under-recognized diseases with important clinical ramifications.

Prof. Dr. Amy Jamieson is a tenure track assistant professor surgeon–scientist in the UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of Otago and her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Sydney and the University of British Columbia. She was the first recipient of the Miller-Mindell Translational Research Fellowship with OVCARE/Gynecologic Cancer Initiative. She now works as a gynecologic oncologist at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer. Her research projects are focused on molecular stratification and a subtype-specific approach to endometrial and vulvar cancers.

Prof. Dr. Bahriye Aktas is a clinic director of the Clinic and Department of Gynecology at the University Hospital Leipzig. She is a chairwoman of the Central German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (MGFG), a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG), the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM), etc. Her research interests include gynecologic cancer and breast cancer.
