Author Biographies

Anna Christakou is an Associate Professor (full-time) in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Peloponnese. She was a physiotherapist at Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens for over 10 years. She also has a bachelor’s degree from the School of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, University of Athens, Greece, in 1997. She completed her PhD with the thesis titled “Reinjury worry, confidence, and attention as predictors of a sports injury”. She completed her MSc thesis in 2002 with the title “The effectiveness of motor imagery in the functional rehabilitation of an ankle sprain grade II”. She is actively involved in research and teaching in musculoskeletal, respiratory, and other clinical populations. Additionally, she has teaching experience in B.Sc. degrees in the Department of Physiotherapy in Aigion (2005–2010) and at the School of Sports Science and Physical Education in Athens (2000–present). She has teaching experience in the MSc programs of (a) the Department of Physiotherapy in Athens, in Lamia and Aigion, (b) the School of Medicine in Athens, and (c) the School of Sport Sciences and Physical Education. Her current research projects include developing questionnaires in clinical populations, the cross-cultural validation of imagery questionnaires in the Greek language, and applying mind–body techniques in respiratory diseases, in chronic musculoskeletal and neurological patients.

Vasiliki Sakellari is a Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy of the University of West Attica (UniWA), Athens, Greece, and the Director of the Postgraduate Program “New Methods of Physiotherapy”, UniWA. She is an IFPOHE Executive Committee member and ENPHE UNIWA Department of Physiotherapy representative, and Panhellenic Physiotherapists’ Association member. She is a physiotherapist, holds a master's degree in Ergonomics (University College London), and a PhD from the University of London, Institute of Neurology. She has served as the Director of the School of Health and Welfare Professions of the TEI of Lamia and Institutional Coordinator of the SOCRATES, Erasmus Program, as a full member of the General Assembly ELIDEK, and the Director of the Center for Technological Research of Central Greece. She has participated in the European Supported Programs and coordinated nationally funded research projects. Her main interests include Physiotherapy in Geriatrics, Clinical Education in Neurological Physiotherapy, Ergonomics, and Consulting in Physiotherapy.
