Sylwia Ptasinska is a Professor at the Department of Physics & Astronomy, University of Notre Dame. She received an M.Sc. from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in 2001 and a Ph.D. from Leopold-Franzens-University in 2004. She served as an EPSRC Post-doctoral Fellow at the Open University (Milton Keynes, UK) from 2007 to 2010. She established the Ptasinska Research Laboratory group in September 2010 as principal investigator. She obtained habilitation from the Leopold-Franzens-University in 2011. Her research interests include heterogeneous processes on surfaces, Non-Thermal Plasma Radiation, and Low-Energy Electron Interactions. She received Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C., Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2019. She is Editor-in-Chief of European Physical Journal D: Atomic, Molecular, Optical and Plasma Physics (EPJD).
