Prof. Luc Djogbénou is a Professor in Parasitology at the University of Abomey Calavi, in Benin. From 2010 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the UK, where he is currently an Honorary Fellow Staff. Since 2012, he has worked to establish the Tropical Infectious Diseases Research Center and assumed the position of Deputy Director in 2020. He was appointed as the Director of the Institut Régional de Santé Publique at the same university in October 2021. At AMMnet, he is the Coordinator of the Career Development Committee. His research activities are related to the control of human vector-borne diseases such as malaria, lymphatic filariasis, and dengue, and the understanding of the biology, genetics, and genomics of both pathogens and vectors.
Dr. Rousseau Djouaka is an international research scientist working on agriculture-associated diseases under the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Health and Nutrition (A4NH) at IITA. He is a trained molecular biologist and is based at the IITA station in Benin, West Africa, where he leads activities on the development of environmentally sound packages of innovations for mitigating health risks associated with poor agricultural practices. Dr. Djouaka has had several professional recognitions in the research field on tropical diseases, the control of vectors, and understanding mechanisms of insect resistance to insecticides. He is a peer-reviewer of several journals such as Parasites and Vectors, Malaria Journal, and more, and also a reviewer of research proposals from the Wellcome Trust Research Training Grant.
