Dr. Jan Bilski is a Professor and Head of the Department of Biomechanics and Kinesiology at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow, Poland, a position he has held since 2003. He completed his MD at the Medical Academy in Cracow in 1981, followed by completing his PhD, cum laude, at Jagiellonian University Medical College in 1986, where he explored gastrointestinal physiology. From 1986 to 1988, Dr. Bilski served as a Research Associate in the Gastroenterology Research Laboratory at New York Medical College. He returned to Jagiellonian University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology (1988–2006) and later became an Associate Professor (1996–2003). From 2008 to 2016, he also held the position of Director of the Institute of Physiotherapy. Dr. Bilski’s research focuses on exercise physiology, biomechanics, and the interactions between gut and muscle physiology in both health and disease contexts.
