Prof. Dr. Sung-Yong Son received B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Republic of Korea, in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, Prof. Dr. Sung-Yong Son was with 4DHomeNet and Icross-Technology. He was a visiting scholar with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) in 2014. Prof. Dr. Sung-Yong Son is currently a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gachon University, Republic of Korea. His research interests include smart grids, smart homes, and smart cities.
