Author Biographies

Dr. Krasimir Petrov graduated from the Mathematical High School "Geo Milev" in Pleven in 1986. He received his Master's in medicine from the Pleven Higher Medical School in 1994. Dr. Petrov has experience in internal medicine and has worked as a general practitioner. Since 2013, he has been a lecturer and, starting in 2018, an assistant at the Department of Pathoanatomy at the Medical University in Pleven. He is a specialist in Pathoanatomy and Cytopathology, working at UMHAT "Georgi Stranski" in Pleven and MHAT "Avis Medica" in Pleven. Dr. Petrov is a member of several professional organizations, including the Bulgarian Medical Association, the Bulgarian Society of Pathology, the European Society of Pathology, and the Bulgarian Alliance for Precision and Personalized Medicine. He currently teaches pathology in both the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Pleven.
Associate Professor Ivan Nedkov Ivanov graduated from Medical University Pleven in 2008. He obtained his PhD in 2012 and became consecutively specialist in General and Clinical pathology and associate professor in Pathology in 2016. Since 2012, he has worked at the  Department of Pathoanatomy ( MU-Pleven and UMHAT "Dr. Georgi Stranski" Pleven, Bulgaria). His professional interests are focused on general tumor pathology and breast cancer.
Prof. Dr. Savelina Lubenova Popovska obtained a master's degree in medicine from the Pleven Higher Medical School in 1988. She obtained a qualification degree in cellular pathology in 1999. She obtained a doctoral degree in education and science in 2001. She obtained a master's degree in public health and health management in 2010. She obtained a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in Education and Science in 2015. Since 2006, she has served as an associate professor in the Department of Pathological Anatomy at Pleven Medical University. From 2016 to the present, she has served as a national pathology consultant.
Dr. Tatyana Marinova Betova obtained a master's in medicine from the Plevеn Higher Medical School in 1987. Her first specialty is “pathologoanatomy and cytopathology”, which was obtained in 1994, and afterward, a second specialty was obtained in “general medicine” in 2005. Dr. Betova has been an assistant professor in the “Department of Pathoanatomy” of Medical University, Pleven, since 1988, senior assistant in the same department from 1989 to 1993, and chief assistant from 1995 to 2018. Nowadays, she is a lecturer in pathology at the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy of Medical University, Pleven.
Dr. Zornitsa Bogomilova Kamburova-Martinova was born in Pleven, Bulgaria. She graduated with a gold medal from the Mathematical High School "Geo Milev" in Pleven in 1994. She completed her medical studies at the Medical University of Pleven in 2002. In 2010, after a competitive selection process, she was appointed as an assistant in Medical Genetics at the Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Medical Genetics at the Medical University of Pleven. She also took on the role of genetic counselor at the Laboratory of Medical Genetics at "UMHAT, Dr. G. Stranski" in Pleven. In 2015, she completed her specialization in medical genetics. Dr. Kamburova-Martinova is a member of both the Bulgarian Society of Human Genetics and Genomics and the European Society of Human Genetics
