Hugo Algarvio has BSc and MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from the MIT Portugal program. He is a researcher at LNEG. His main research interests concern using multi-agent technology to model and simulate present and future electricity markets and market agent behaviors. His research focuses on retail markets in areas such as bilateral contracting, demand response, coalitions of consumers, optimization of retailer portfolios, and risk management, as well as, more recently, wholesale markets by modelling vRES and developing new bidding strategies and market products for their market integration.
