Dr. Adam Hartley is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in
Cardiovascular Sciences at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI). He
completed his PhD studies in Cardiovascular Sciences at the NHLI, Imperial
College London, and has been awarded a scholarship from the British Heart
Foundation, and was a finalist for the British Cardiovascular Intervention
Society Young Investigator Award and Royal Society of Medicine Cardiology
President’s Prize. He serves as a review editor on the editorial board of
Cardiovascular Drug Delivery, and a topic editor for British Medical Journal
Best Practice. His research topics mainly include the prediction, detection,
and treatment of atherosclerotic plaques that are at high risk of future
rupture and the culprit for heart attacks.
Dr. Nearchos Hadjiloizou is a Consultant Cardiologist at
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He graduated from University College
London Medical School, and has been awarded a British Heart Foundation research
fellowship, and the Young Investigator Prize in the international meeting of
artery research in 2007 and was awarded PhD in 2010 on his thesis on coronary physiology. He has published in international journals, presented
in international annual meetings, and serves as a member of the British
Cardiovascular Society, and the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.
His research topics mainly include: coronary physiology, aortic stenosis, TAVI, and coronary intervention.
Dr. Ghada Mikhail is a consultant interventional
cardiologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She graduated from the
Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, and completed her MD from the
University of London. She has set up the valvular heart disease program at
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and has founded the Her at Heart
scientific initiative in the UK. She has chaired symposia and presented at
national and international meetings and is widely published on the same
subject. She serves as a member of the British Cardiovascular Society working
group, and also a board member of the European EAPCI women group. Her research
topics mainly include cardiovascular disease in women and permanent pacemaker
implantation.
