Dr. Elias Farah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering, Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). Having joined USEK in 2021, he currently serves as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. He is also a member of the School Steering Committee and the School Admission Committee. His research interests include the design of smart water systems, hydraulic modeling, leak detection, and water quality monitoring. He has applied artificial intelligence to water engineering subjects. Between 2013 and 2016, he contributed to the SunRise Smart City Demonstrator as part of the Smart Water for Europe (SW4EU) project. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. He has been the project coordinator of several USAID-funded projects, including the WASIP-LEB (Water and Sanitation Internship Program) and SWYPE (Smart Water for Young Professionals and Experts) projects. Dr. Farah is a member of the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is also a licensed civil engineer, specializing in the design of structures and hydraulic infrastructure.
