Dr. Elsayed Mansour is currently a professor in the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University. He obtained an MSc in plant breeding and genetics (120 ECTS) in October 2010 from Lleida University (UdL), Spain, in association with the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza, Spain (IAMZ), and the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), with a cum laude designation. Then, he obtained a Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics in April 2013 from the same university, with a cum laude designation. He has been awarded the Dr. Fouad Radwan Al-Fiqi Award in Crop Science from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Ministry of Scientific Research, Egypt, and the State Award of Encouragement in Agricultural Sciences, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Ministry of Scientific Research, Egypt (2023). He is a member of the Egyptian Society of Plant Breeding. He is a plant breeder, working on improving tolerance to different abiotic stresses and resilience to climate change in field crops using classical and modern plant breeding tools.
