Ratchata Chokwiwatkul is a Ph.D. student in Biological Science at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Prince of Songkla University and her master’s degree in science (botany) in 2017 from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. When she was in her third year of undergraduate, she was a trainee in the Center of Excellence in Environment and Plant Physiology at the Department of Botany, Chulalongkorn University. Her previous research focused on identifying genes involved in salt tolerance using GWAS data based on the Na+ content in local Thai rice leaves, and she validated these genes using Arabidopsis orthologous genes. Now, she is interested in the effect of chitin-based application on rice production, starch properties, and antioxidant activities in local Thai rice cultivars.
