Pengcheng Wei is a professor at Anhui Agricultural University. In 2008, he obtained his Ph.D. in Botany from China Agricultural University and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, and Florida State University. From 2011 to 2021, he held the positions of assistant researcher, associate researcher, and researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering and the Rice Institute of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He has long been engaged in fundamental research on the application of crop biotechnology and has presided over more than ten projects, including those of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and major transgenic projects (sub-projects). He was awarded the first prize of Anhui Science and Technology Award, Anhui Youth Science and Technology Award, the title of “Outstanding Young Agricultural Scientist” of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Anhui Youth “May Fourth” Medal.
