Mr Chereches Nelu Cristian is an Associate Professor, PhD, at the Department of Building Services, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi. He completed his co-tutored PhD studies at the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne and Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi with a thesis entitled "Contributions to the optimization of thermodynamic circuits". He has published over 100 papers in various journals and conferences and served as director or member in 13 research and development projects. His teaching disciplines include electrical building services and computer-aided design, and his research interests include the energy efficiency of photovoltaic panels integrated into ventilated facades and the cooling of electrical equipment.
Mr. Florin-Emilian Țurcanu, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Building Services, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași. He is a PhD researcher with expertise in indoor climate control, energy efficiency, and heating system optimization in historic and sensitive environments. His work utilizes advanced computational tools, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and building energy simulation (BES), to analyze and improve indoor environments in heritage buildings, particularly historic churches. With 27 ISI-indexed articles, 3 published books, and a chapter in an international volume, Dr. Țurcanu’s contributions focus on advanced computational modeling, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency. His most impactful work originates from his doctoral research, which was later expanded through further publications. This research focused on optimizing heating systems in historical churches, addressing the dual goals of architectural preservation and indoor climate enhancement. Using CFD and other simulation methodologies, Dr. Țurcanu has provided actionable insights on maintaining stable temperatures and energy efficiency in large, complex spaces, including churches and healthcare facilities. His findings, highly relevant to current discussions on energy use and climate adaptation, have influenced both academic study and practical applications in building engineering
