Zhonghui Zhang, PhD, Professor,and doctoral supervisor. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Sun Yat-sen University in 2003 and his PhD in Botany from Sun Yat-sen University in 2009. He worked at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 2009 to 2011 and conducted postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, he joined the School of Life Sciences of South China Normal University. He conducts research in the field of epigenetic regulation of plant development and environmental stress adaptation.

Bing Chen received his Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Science in 2003 before starting a faculty position at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing). He has worked as an assistant professor and then as an associate professor in the Institute till the end of year 2018. During this time, he has been working as a postdoc scholar at the University of Chicago, USA, for two years and as a visiting scholar at the University of Zürich, Switzerland, for one year and a half. After leaving the Institute, he moved to Hebei University in Baoding, China, for a professorial position. He is the deputy director of the Orthoptera Professional Committee of the Chinese Entomological Society. He conducts research in the field of eco-physiology and evolutionary genetics of environmental stress adaptation in insects. His research involves environmental stress such as high-altitude hypoxia and thermal stress.
