Dr. Cristian-Dragos Varganici obtained his PhD in 2015 from the “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (ICMPP) in Iasi, Romania under the supervision of Acad. Bogdan C. Simionescu, on the “Thermal and photochemical stability of multifunctional polymeric materials” (Summa cum laude). He is currently working as a senior scientist at the Centre of Advanced Research in Bionanoconjugates and Biopolymers within ICMPP. His fields of interest include: the physico-chemical characterization of polymers, resins and different multicomponent polymeric materials, their thermal and photochemical stability and lifetime evaluation. He has won the “Andrzej Malecki” 2019 Grant for Best Young Researcher from Central & Eastern Europe in the field of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (CEEC–TAC5, 2019; Rome, Italy) and the “Costin D. Nenitescu” Romanian Academy Award in 2020. He has been a member of the Associazione Italiana di Scienza e Tecnologia delle Macromolecole since 2013 and a member of the Romanian Chemical Society since 2015. He has co-authored 120 scientific articles and four book chapters. He has 2140 citations, and his h-index is 29 (Scopus).
