Bettina Thauerer received her Master's degree in Microbiology in 2002 from the University Innsbruck. After a Max Planck fellowship in Munich, she received her PhD in Neuroscience from the Medical University of Innsbruck in 2006. Up until 2014, she worked at the Department of Neurobiochemistry at the Medical University of Innsbruck. From 2017 to the present, she has been working at the Ludwig Boltzmann Instutute Arthritis and Rehabilitation. Her interest is in rehabilitation and outcome research.
