Dr. Weizao Liu is an Associate Professor at the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Chongqing University. He is also a Member of the Youth Work Committee of the Solid Waste and Ecological Materials Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society. He received his BS in Metallurgical Engineering (2014), MSc in Nonferrous Metal Metallurgy (2017), and PhD in Chemical Metallurgy and Materials Technology (2020) from Sichuan University. He was selected as one of the “Top 2% of the World’s Most Influential Scientists of the Year” in 2023. His teaching disciplines include Nonferrous Metal Metallurgy, Industrial Energy Saving Principles and Technologies, and Resource Recycling and Utilization. His main research interests include recycling waste lithium-ion batteries, vanadium-titanium metallurgy, resource utilization and harmless treatment of metallurgical solid waste, and carbon dioxide capture and storage.
