Gang Xiong is a professor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the deputy director and chief scientist of the Dongguan Institute of Automation, Cloud Computing Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Executive Deputy Director of Beijing Intelligent Technology and System Engineering Technology Research Center. He received a BS and an MS from Xi’an University of Technology in 1991 and 1994, respectively, and a PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1996. Thereafter, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Zhejiang University in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Tampere University of Technology. He has published over 300 articles and four books. His research interests mainly focus on intelligent science and technology.
Zhen Shen is a professor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his BS and PhD from Tsinghua University in 2004 and 2009, respectively. Prof. Shen won the Second Class Prize of the 9th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019 and the Second Class Award of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement in 2018. He holds 56 patents, published over 100 articles, and three monographs. He serves as Associate Editor for the journal IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles. His research interests include 3D printing, intelligent manufacturing, 3D deep learning, and complex systems.
