Dr. Fakhar Abbas is a Research Fellow at the Centre for
Trusted Internet and Community, National University of Singapore (NUS). He
received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from Harbin University, China, in 2016,
and his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from the Key
Laboratory of Information Coding and Transmission at Southwest Jiaotong
University, in 2020. With over ten years of professional teaching and research
experience, he has held positions as a lecturer, senior lecturer, and research
fellow in international and multicultural academic environments. He has
published high-impact research in Q1 journals, including IEEE Transactions,
Elsevier, and Springer Nature, as well as in conference proceedings. He is the
Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in several national and international
research projects in computer science and communication engineering. As a senior
member of IEEE and a lifetime registered engineer with the Pakistan Engineering
Council (PEC), he also serves as a member of the Technical Program Committee
(TPC) for various conferences, a Guest Editor for Diagnostic Special Issues at
MDPI, and as a reviewer for leading IEEE journals and conferences. His research
focuses on Generative AI, deep learning, computer vision, deepfake detection
and generation, fake news detection, AI governance, data science, advanced
wireless communications, IoT, network security, mobile edge computing, and deep
reinforcement learning for radio resource management in V2X.
