Zhiping Yang is a Professor leading the Plant Nutrition and Fertilization Technology Lab at the Institute of Agricultural Environment and Resource, Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. She spent one year at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with Russell S. Yost as a visiting scholar. Before she visited the University of Hawaiʻi, she spent 6 months at the University of Melbourne with Deli Chen as a visiting scholar. She obtained her Ph.D. at Shanxi University in Ecology under the supervision of Mingchang Chen. She completed her undergraduate study at Shanxi Agricultural University in Soil Chemistry. Her research interest includes crop-integrated nutrient management, saline-alkali improvement, and fertilizer R&D.
Qiang Zhang is a member of the Communist Party of China, a
researcher, a doctorate holder, a doctoral supervisor, and an expert with
special government allowance from the State Council. He graduated from China
Agricultural University (formerly Beijing Agricultural University) in 1988 with
a bachelor’s degree. He obtained a Master’s degree in agronomy from Shanxi
Agricultural University in 2002 and a doctoral degree in science from the Loess
Plateau Research Institute of Shanxi University in 2012. From January 1998 to
January 1999, he was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Environmental
Science, Royal Society of New Zealand. From February 2005 to May 2005, he was a
senior visiting scholar in the Department of Soil Science at Wageningen
University in the Netherlands. He is currently the Deputy Secretary of the
Party Committee, President of Shanxi Agricultural University (Dean of the
Academy), and President of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He
also serves as a standing director of the Chinese Society of Plant Nutrition
and Fertilizer, a director of the Chinese Society of Soil Science, Vice
Chairman of the Shanxi Soil and Fertilizer Society, Director of the Engineering
Research Center for Degraded Soil Improvement and New Fertilizer Development
co-built by the province and the ministry, and Director of the Key Laboratory
of Soil Environment and Nutrient Resources in Shanxi Province.
