Dr. Hani M. Bu-Omer is a Research Scientist at the Presence Media Research Group, Hiroshi Ishiguro Laboratories, Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Okayama University, Japan, where he conducted groundbreaking research on brain activities associated with the sense of agency using EEG measurements. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and Systems at Cairo University, Egypt. Dr. Bu-Omer has extensive research experience in pain prediction systems that use EEG, physiological signal processing, and neuroengineering. His research spans several interdisciplinary projects, including the development of EEG-based diagnostic tools and the application of machine learning techniques to medical imaging and brain–computer interfaces. He is a member of professional societies such as the IEEE, the Japanese Association for the Study of Pain (JAST), and the Federation of Arab Engineers and has received several prestigious awards, including Japan’s MEXT Ph.D. scholarship and the CiNet Research Award. Dr. Bu-Omer is dedicated to advancing neuroscience and biomedical engineering through innovative research and collaboration.
