Takehiro Morimoto received his PhD in Science from the University of Tsukuba. He is now an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He also serves as a member of the Japan Association of Economic Geographers, the Human Geographical Society of Japan, and the Japan Association on Geographical Space. He is participating in many research projects, such as regional systems in the management of farmland and a geographical study on cultivation abandonment. His research interests include Human Geography, Agriculture, Rural and Rural–Urban Fringe Areas, Land Use, and GIS.
Toshiaki Ichonose received his PhD in Civil Engineering Environmental Systems from The University of Tokyo, Japan. He is currently working as a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University, and a Senior Research Administrator at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES). He has also served as a board member of the International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC) and a member of the WMO Expert Team on Training on Urban Climatology. His research interests include Strategic Urban Planning and Assessment of Low-Carbon Cities.
