Prof. Dr. Mieko Arisawa was born in Yamagata, Japan in 1974. She received her Ph.D. from Tohoku University in 2001 under the direction of Prof. Masahiko Yamaguchi. She belongs to the group of Prof. Masahiko Yamaguchi of Tohoku University to date. She received the Award for the Sankyo Chemical Co., LTD. Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (2001), The Banyu Young Chemist Award (2002), and The Incentive Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (2010). Her current research interests include the development of the transition metal-catalyzed efficient synthesis of organoheteroatom compounds and the development of novel equilibrium control methods.
