Jacinda B. Roach earned, from Nicholls State University, a BS in Dietetics (1992), and from the University of Southern Mississippi, a MS in Institutional Management (1994) and a PhD in Nutrition and Food Systems (2000). She is now the Director of Maternal and Child Health Programs at the Mississippi Public Health Institute. Her work has resulted in numerous publications, presentations, lectures, and courses; memberships, including The American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The Mississippi Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Mississippi Public Health Association; and awards in public health, dietetics, and teaching. Her research interests include health literacy, healthy food access, and social determinants of health.
