Hossein Arefi received an M.Sc. degree from the HFT University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany, in 2003 and his Ph.D. degree from the UniBW University of Munich, Munich, Germany, in 2009. From September 2008 to August 2013, he worked at the Institute of Remote Sensing Technology, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany. Since 2013, he started his academic work at the School of Surveying and Geospatial Engineering, University of Tehran, Iran, as an Assistant Professor. At present, he is a full professor at the University of Applied Sciences, Mainz, Germany. His research focuses on 3D point cloud analysis, 3D object and surface models, and machine learning.
Mehdi Maboudi received his Ph.D. degree in photogrammetry from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 2017. He is a Lecturer and Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Braunschweig, Germany. Since 2022, he has been the Chair of ISPRS ICWG II/Ib on “Digital Construction: Reality Capture, Automated Inspection, and Integration to BIM.” His research interests include close-range photogrammetry, UAV-based structural health monitoring, reality capture, inspection and object tracking in digital construction, indoor mobile mapping, and 3-D indoor modeling.
